PFF Fellows at Duke
At Duke, the PFF program allows Ph.D. students and postdocs who are selected as Fellows to participate in a year-long experience that includes professional mentoring with a faculty member beyond Duke, site visits to nearby cluster campuses, and colloquia at Duke on critical issues in academia (academic freedom, tenure, campus governance, teaching, service, gender, etc.). These activities provide a wider range of educational experiences than are generally available to students in their departments here. Since the mission, values, student population, and expectations of faculty are distinct to every academic institution, each PFF Fellow has a unique opportunity to learn about the broad range of faculty roles and responsibilities by visiting cluster campuses and by working closely with a mentor at one of the following five "Partner Institutions": Durham Technical Community College, Elon University, Guilford College, Meredith College, and North Carolina Central University.
