Communications
Grad-gsa@duke.edu is the address used by the Office of Graduate Student Affairs (GSA) to send administrative communication and GSA event announcements to the entire graduate student population using the official Duke alias address (usually firstname.lastname@duke.edu). Students are also notified regularly of updates to the topics on the Graduate Digest page. Using this page as a central announcement board, GSA works together with departments, campus offices, and agencies in the Durham community to inform graduate students of special events and opportunities.
Publications
To strengthen communication among graduate students, faculty, and staff, GSA sponsors a number of resource publications. When you first arrived on campus, you should have received an Orientation Handbook created by GSA. If you did not pick one up, copies may still be available in 120 Allen Building. The GRIND, a newsletter posted online twice a year, highlights particular student issues, features student profiles, and identifies university resources. All of GSA’s publications can be accessed by clicking the link at the top of this paragraph.
News and Newsgroups
Graduate students at Duke are welcome participants in a number of newsgroups, bulletin boards, and mailing lists. For a complete and up to date list of Duke University mail groups, send the message "lists" (no quotation marks) to majordomo@duke.edu. Put no other words, characters, or signature blocks in the body of your message.
GSA continues its efforts to enhance communication within the graduate school community by working together with the GPSC communications committee and participating in other Duke internal communications committees.
