2008 Graduate Student Research and Professional Development Conference
Showcasing Graduate Student Research @ Duke
Wednesday, April 2, 2008
Bryan Center, West Campus
The first Graduate Student Research Day (GSRD) was held in March 2000 to acknowledge and show appreciation for the scholarly contributions of graduate students to the university. This year, participants again have the opportunity to share their work with an audience beyond that of their immediate discipline, and in turn receive feedback from faculty on their oral or poster presentations. Now expanded to inclued a series of professional development activiites, the 2008 Graduate Student Research and Professional Development Conference will be held on Wednesday, April 2 in the Bryan Center from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. as part of Graduate Student Appreciation Week. Graduate students may give oral or poster presentations based on research done in any of the broad discipline areas (i.e., humanities, social sciences, biological sciences, and physical sciences and engineering). This year's agenda includes a morning professional development workshop, presentations in the morning and afternoon, and a keynote address by Dr. Dale Purves, Professor of Neurobiology.
